Hope you all got yours under control! This is a quick sketch book one with a little photoshop tinting. The Ego must be kept under control, or else it will become too big, and lets face it no one likes a big ego!

MERLIN

Here is my interpretation of Merlin, It started off with a sketch of an old mans face in Corel Painter, then I painted some skin tones and the beard.
Happy with the way it was going, I thought i'd add the body and realised that I had a bit of a Merlin thing going on!
I continued flitting between Painter and Photoshop, using painter version 9 and P-shop cs.
It's weird, there are so many similarities between the two programs, however there are certain things that work better in one or the other! thats the sales pitch over, hope you all like it.

As promised here are some more sketches, done in Painter and bits of tweaking in Photoshop.
Usually taking from around 30 to 60 mins or there about, I don't know I never click a stop watch! Anyway I do feel these sketches probably say alot more about me than some of the more finished pieces so I'll continue to add as and when!

The Aliens are coming!

Here are a couple of new pieces i've been working on for an up coming exhibition in Torquay Museum, which is going to be show casing some amazing models and props from Star wars and other Iconic Sci Fi films, I've got a few portraits from the Star wars films and some Dr Who ones as well, but thought some good old generic Grey Aliens wouldn't go amiss.
The Aliens themselves were constructed in Poser, a "Michael" figure heavily tweaked! and the tripods were constructed in Carrara 6 from scratch.

SKETCHES

I was trawling through a folder I use for sketches, quick random stuff usually done in Painter, I realised I had some interesting stuff in there that I had forgotten, so I spent some time tidying them up in Painter and also Photoshop.
It just goes to show that sketches should never be over looked!

This is a recent one created in poser and bryce, more work could have been done but i do find 3d a bit slow in some respects, maybe i just need a faster computer!!!!

I found a photo of this Gothic girl and liked it so much i sketched it right into Painter, i then added a photo filter to achieve some grain in photoshop, but all in all a fairly quick piece.

Beware the mighty Cthulhu! I love H.P.Lovecraft's writings, so ahead of his time, this is a pure digital piece,i used a basic Poser model to get the, well the pose! then painted over it using photoshop and Corel painter, poser helped getting the lighting right, so although it is a digital piece, there is still alot of hours gone in to getting it right, well right enough for me, you've got to let go somewhere!!
The terrible Goblin kitchen gaurd, keep those hands out of the cookie jars! a sketchbook and photoshop coloured job.!
Sid Vicious meets monster mutants from outer space! freehand sketch in Painter with tweaking in photoshop.
Redrawn in illustrator from an original sketch.
Sci- fi boy in a bubble, one from my sketch book, redrawn in illustrator to clean up the lines, then Painter and Photoshoped.
